Dark Mode Option

I’m not really asking it to think here, just aggregate data.

This is a small sample of table output (its a reasonably big CSV):

This is the overall Research Summary (short version):
There’s a tonne of stuff you can do including graph the frequency of mentions over time or do a ranking/scoring system.

What this suggests Trimble should prioritize (from the forum signal)

  1. LayOut‑to‑CAD fidelity & performance (DWG/DXF hygiene, WYSIWYG exports, tag→layer logic, vector‑clean topology, fewer fragmented segments). This is the single most sustained pain for professional teams handing off to consultants. [forums.sketchup.com], [forums.sketchup.com], [forums.sketchup.com]
  2. LayOut productivity primitives (components/blocks, better text/list handling, hatch libraries). These repeatedly appear across years because they save hours in large sheet sets. [forums.sketchup.com], [forums.sketchup.com]
  3. UI/UX comfort & accessibility (Dark Mode), now a baseline expectation across creative apps. [forums.sketchup.com], [forums.sketchup.com]
  4. Modeling ergonomics (VCB math, fillet/chamfer, inference toggles) to reduce reliance on plugins for everyday workflows and to speed precision input. [forums.sketchup.com], [forums.sketchup.com], [forums.sketchup.com]

I don’t think it’s giving us any flashes of inspiration - we long term forum users know all this already!

Below is the prompt chain I used (CoPilot research agent). This is FAR From ideal btw..someone with more time could get a much better output than I managed to.

I want to know which Feature Requests are most common and enduring. Search all forum posts in the last seven years. Identify any posts that include Requests (also known as Feature Requests) that users make to change SketchUp or LayOut. These would include topics such as interface improvements, new tools, new workflows or changes to the output of the software. Aggregate and Tabulate these results.

Conduct an analysis to identify the frequency of each type Request and rank them in order. In that table, also identify the number of “like” or “heart” reactions or “votes” that each request receives.

Include individual posts within Topics, and include Topics that are not specifically tagged as “Feature Requests”. You’ll need to look across all topics in the SketchUp, SketchUp Pro, LayOut and Feature Request topic categories.

Weight and score the top 30 requests for sketchup and the top 20 for layout, compiled in a single table.
