I have been using SketchUp professionally since 2004 for urban design, planning, landscape and architecture work.
I am in a company of designers and other disciplines such as civil engineers, planners and surveyors. Most of my projects are new, large-scale residential developments.
We also use plenty of Trimble equipment such as robotic total stations and laser scanners.
I have given presentations to professional staff across New Zealand about the virtues of a 3D-based workflow and keeping pace with technology.

What I like best about SketchUp: It feels like I have design freedom without thinking too much about the software or following prescribed rules.
What I would like SketchUp to improve: Layout
What I dream about: The day Autocad ceases to exist and all people review 3d models on screens, instead of trying to create 2d documents from them.
