Dark Mode / Greyscale Setting

Hi there,

i know that a dark mode was a topic for a million times, but well …

When does SketchUp get a Dark Mode, or at least the ability to set the brightness of the UI background to different levels, just like in Photoshop?

Looking at an interface that is so bright all day gives you a headache sometimes and nearly every modern UI has this feature.

Sure, many many icons would need an overhaul, but that is tolerable for most of the user i assume - and waiting for each plugin-dev to update their icons probably will take an eternity.

Is there an official statement from the SU devs i have missed? Or maybe plans for SU 2026?

Cheers!

We users don’t know and the people who might know are not allowed to tell you..

90% of the UI is the canvas or modeling window. Have you tried creating a dark(er) background or face style?

Try turning the brightness down on your monitor; mine is set to 4%.
Change the SketchUp desktop background to something less than 255, 255, 255; mine is 248, 248, 248.

Already done that

Even tape measures come in Dark Mode.

I don’t know how I survived 20 years in the shop and field without this.

It’s the black bits that are the best, the white is just a highlight.
