I still, constantly, have bug splats when changing scenes after updating one. The black trays are solved however… ![]()
…well I’m, for now, happy with it!
Lots of bugs. Erase will not work some of the time. Now the program has locked up trying to insert a new texture into the materials tray.
TIM
Will update it . I didn’t have it Enabled in 2022 and it did carry across to 2023.1…
Last update for Enscape was in May (I think)
There is a new version a couple of days ago ![]()
Has coloured shadow support and some other fixes
I’m still experiencing this problem with the Tool Trays, having tried different monitors, resolutions, restarts, etc. The tool trays also redraw wierdly (i see outlines of icons) and jump around a bit.
I’m also seeing a significant decrease in 3d performance, relative to 2022.
Models (large ones) that display and navigate very smoothly (30fps+) in 2022 are very slow (5fps) in 2023…too slow to be useable. Same content. I’ve made sure graphics settings are the same between versions and have updated my NVidia (3070ti) drivers today, to no avail.
I can’t work in 2023 if this is how it’s going to be.
The erase tool does not work when dragging through a line I want to erase. Really frustrating as I’m in the middle of a project. One would imagine that the program would be better in a .1 release rather than losing functionality that was perfectly fine in previous releases
Not saying not true, on the contrary.
But the file may or may not explain what is going on.
I’ll already give you credit for say 80%. Please share the file if possible.
I think the new colors look quite nice. I hope, the reason for the relatively light colors is the compatibility with an upcoming dark mode…
Would be good to have some standards for plugins regarding icons and menus to fit into the color scheme.
The snaps look very useful.
SketchUp 2023 had a huge improvement in the way the eraser worked when dragging quickly through a set of edges. If you are still using 2018, then you are right, it was a problem then. If you still have problems in some cases with 2023.1, then please show an example model like Wo3Dan suggested.
Did someone say “Dark Mode”?
SketchUp 2034, take it to the bank
This is a great demonstration! Even blurry, I can easily find my way around the old icons. The new ones have got to go, or at least give us the option to choose which ones we want to use. The new icons are just too monochrome. This is slowing me waaaaay doooown!
Maybe it’s time for keyboard shortcuts? No icons needed.
For me it’s not about the toolbar icons it’s the actual tool cursor icon – I can’t bear to see the new ones.
True.
Move is really bright!
And Eraser drives me crazy!! Why has the actual locator point shifted!?!
I would like most icons to have a visible locator. Like Move, because sometimes you want to move something precisely.
Trimble should have more focus on ergonomic interface design. Also the Icons for *.skp and *.layout in the past where much better. Now they are both this blue Icon, slightly different, hard to distinguish. Before they where easy to read, as they had different colours…
I think, if I understand development a bit more after doing a startup now for 2 years, change of vision requires alternations to what is normal. Those changes have to be done in spite of the audience and then the feedback drives iteration. I think Trimble might have some of the same convictions but it will take some development cycles to get there.
As @Sonder says all the time…No matter the issues, there is still no better platform for the price on the market.
Im working to temper my complaints with this fact now. Say a big thank you to Trimble for giving us such amazing tool for an amazing price. Not perfect, but better than anything else out there at the price point.
What am I doing wrong, the autotext function doesn’t work for me as easy as shown, also in the video on min. 5.00 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7sEgtwxNSs), it is not because of Mac or Windows, right?
