Installed SketchUp 2026 but can't open after logging in

Hi, I’ve been meaning to update my 2022 Version to the 2026 Version to use the Geo-location feature.

I chose ‘Run as Administrator’ when installing the file. I also rebooted my device and made sure my graphics card was up to date. After installing, I logged in to my Trimble Account, then I get stuck on this window (see attached photo).

I still didn’t uninstall the 2022 version as it works perfectly. The 2026 version just shows blank. Any help would be appreciated.

Mine is doing the same. I do know my account says on hold to verify the tax exemption. But besides that it looks like your screen.

This is normally either or both :

You have something blocking access (vpn/firewall/adblocker etc)

and/or the webcache folder needs deleting - the fact this is a new install suggest the former.

Steps to Delete SketchUp Web Cache

  • Windows:

    1. Close SketchUp.

    2. Open File Explorer and navigate to %AppData%/SketchUp/SketchUp 20XX (replace “20XX” with your specific version, e.g., 2021, 2022).

    3. Locate the Webcache folder and delete it.

    4. Restart SketchUp.

  • Mac:

    1. Quit all SketchUp instances.

    2. Open Finder, click the “Go” menu, and navigate to the User Library.

    3. Find and delete the Web Cache folder.

While it is rare with a fresh install, sometimes you will need to delete a login file - login_session.dat

You need to sign out and close SketchUp first.

Delete the file from this location.

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\SketchUp\SketchUp VERSION

Hi, I did all the steps you listed. However, it still shows the same window. I also did what KyleB replied. It hasn’t changed.

Hi, I did what you instructed, as well as what Elmtec-Adam replied. It still shows the same window after logging in.

Have you submitted a support ticket yet?

Hey! I’m currently struggling with the same problem. Have you managed to fix this? If so, how?

Did you submit a ticket at the link provided by Kyle in the post before yours?

Do you have a SketchUp Pro subscription or a Studio subscription? There isn’t a Classic license for SketchUp 2026 as you indicated in your profile.

Hm, I have a trainee with the same issue, she’s fine with 24, but 26 won’t play ball. deleted the cache and login.dat
I gave her the tech support link, dunno if/when she’ll send it.

I assume it was resolved through tech support ?

I’ve never seen it be anything else beyond a local machine/network issue - I’d be keen to hear what support have to say beyond anything that’s already been suggested here.

Hi all, sorry I wasn’t able to update on the matter. I did submit a ticket, and they suggested deleting the ‘login_session.dat’ file in the AppData > Roaming > SketchUp 2026 folder. I have done this, and yet it still hasn’t worked for me. It still showed the same blank window as attached to my problem.

I’ve given up on working out this issue and just continued my work using the SketchUp 2022 version. However, I couldn’t use the Geo-location feature because of the issue.

If you happen to have the same problem, I suggest submitting a ticket since they do explain step-by-step. Thanks for all the help.

I’ve had about 4 people today with this exact problem - they’ve all been using Malwarebytes - this installs an ad blocker / cookie blocker which stops the page from loading.

Disabling this immediately solves it.

FYI: MalwareBytes has a whitelist called the Allow List.

It was specifically the browser guard ; which is a separate free browser extension unaffected by the whitlelist etc.

I’m having the same problem here. I already deleted whatever it is to be deleted. But still nothing.

I don’t even have MalwareBytes that might have caused it.

You’re having this problem with SketchUp 2017 Make?
