Welcome to our forums! Please introduce yourself :)

Hello

J. Behe here. I am a Disabled Vet attempting to build my own home with an extremely low budget. So I’m doing the build including the design plans. So I started with Sketchup Free App and when I realized that I needed PRO to do the layouts for blueprints I upgraded to 2026 edition.

I just started using Sketchup a month ago and love it.

I have not been to 3DBasecamp

No Warehouse yet.

I don’t do emoji’s…

Hi

I am Ahmed and new to SketchUp, i started with SketchUp for web, i am using it to build furniture models and interior design as a hobby,

Recently, i got an education license (Pro version) to start turn my design to layout. I am planning to render these models using native SU or any free and lite render tool.

Hi, I’m Beckie. I’m an architect in CA thinking about starting my own architectural practice and am considering using SketchUp instead of Revit for creating our documentation. I’ve dabbled with the free SketchUp Make in the past but did not use it regularly. I’m currently learning SketchUp Pro through the tutorials in SketchUp Classroom and on YouTube.

* Who are you?
Good morning, I’m Ben aka ZN17 french speaker and 55 years old, last 5 years I have done some woodworking workshop among one on Sketchup

* What is your industry and profession?
I work in I.T. managing support team but I like to build some furniture in wood as hobby

* Where do you use SketchUp? Personally/professionally?
I use Sketchup for Personal use, to avoid cutting, throwing and do it again, I spend hours drawing on paper and when satisfy I put it in Sketchup to see if no mistake or measurements hiccups

* Why do you use SketchUp and what is your favorite thing about it?
I found this tool really great for woodworking; I sometimes do 3D printing and use Fusion I will try Sketchup next time too

* How proficient are you in SketchUp? Beginner, intermediate, advanced?
First time I used it was in 2021 then now so I’m beginner but I like to learn new skills.
When I’m stuck on an issue I ask Youtube or google and until now always find a way to go further.

* Have you gone to a SketchUp 3DBasecamp? No will have a look of what it is

* What is your current set up? [Computer type, SketchUp version…etc.]
I work with the Sketchup 2026 Trial (I will buy it if more usage) on a fix NUC 1Tb 32 Gb Ram Graphic AMD Radeon 780M and also on an old Asus Zenbook 5 years old laptop both in Win 11

* Do you have a 3D Warehouse page with your models, Extensions, or a website you would like to link to or show off to us?
Nope

* Anything else you would like to tell us?
From a few months I try to draw a big bookshelf to fit all the books in different place now I will finalize it in Sketchup but for this one I will not build it I will ask for a pro to do it as I don’t have all the tools nor the skills :wink:and this is my favorite Emoji

See you soon

Hello! I’m a newbie who is trying to learn this app super fast!!! it is challenging, but I have a critical project that I need to complete and I want to super impress my bosses!!!

I am not an architect… I am more of a graphic designer who uses Adobe Creative Cloud…which has completely different shortcuts (!!!) but I’m determined to learn Sketchup!!!

I recommend you to take some time to learn the basics here. There are a lot of people that get the wrong impression given how intuitive the software is and start to model without the necessary knowledge to be able to make an organized model. Also don’t use the 3D warehouse as if it’s a machine that gives you free food, a lot of people have corrupted their files or even lost everything because of bad models from the 3DWH.

Hi, this is Michael from Vienna Austria

I’m using the free Web Version of SketchUp for private purpose only. Managed already to create a 3D-model of a room including some furniture out of the warehouse.

Reason for registering is a problem with sign-in (will be a separate post).

Thanks to all of you for your expertise!

Regards, Michael
