My problem with Sketchup are back
I really don’t know what to do to fix this.
I would like to work but not fight with all these issues.
What do you think?
Why not change the main folder (All files) in so it doesn’t have parentheses?
I thought you had gotten beyond using forbidden characters. That was the problem before.
Thanks for the advice but I don’t have any parentheses in my folder for weeks.

Thank you for your response but I believe something is wrong with Sketchup as I have these problems & issues ONLY with Sketchup but not with any other softwares…
What do you suggest?
I am unfamiliar with the Mac OS, have you tried restarting the computer? To me it seems like a background process is causing the issues. This is assuming theere are no other issues with the OS. There is a way to reinstall and repair the OS. Google can provide the links to the process.
Dear Dan,
I have tried everything and the ONLY way I found is to change the file name every time I want to save a new version of my work.
Not to say that it is VERY annoying but that is the only way.
Hope you will be able to correct this bug for us to work with Sketchup.
Very best regards,
Jehan
If it is a bug, a lot more people would be complaining about it I guess…
I don’t know if it would help, but you still have illegal characters in your folder name:
Try to create two test folders on the La Cie disc:
Test
test
Does it succeed?
Thank you, this has already been changed but it didn’t help.
Nope… It looks like I can save only ONE time my work but cannot re-save it.
The test was for testing if that drive was case-sensitive formatted.
Since the test failed, it’s not.
Now, try saving a model to the test folder.
(Eg. 20T LaCie/Test/test.skp)
I can save it once but cannot save it twice as I need to change the file name for Sketchup to save it.
Is the folder being copied/mirrored/automatically backed up to the cloud? The most common reason for this is that this kind of process is taking possession of the files.
Yes Anssi,
Maybe you are right but couldn’t find a way to cancel the clock close to my HD.
Would you have any ideas ?
I am sorry, I haven’t used a Mac for 20 years and I have never used a Mac with the OS X or newer operating system.
Thank you anyway and maybe you’ve given me a path to investigate
