Just updating to 2024 and adding in all my favourite extensions again. Material Replacer is marked as not compatible. I find this tool invaluable for replacing textered in deeply nested components across the whole model in just a few clicks. Does anyone know if this extension will be updated soon?
Not being marked as compatible doesn’t necessarily mean it won’t work. It usually means the author hasn’t gone through and marked it as compatible. So give it a try and see, you can always remove it.
Currently the ladder referencing is too picky, sometimes it works sometimes doesn’t - needs further polishing.
But what about:
Inference to Guides – Inferencing to guides was sometimes impossible when drawing a line from an object to a guide. You can now more effectively use guides as an inference when drawing
– Do you understand what they mean?
The ability to disable rotating grips is a nice thing, I always hated them on vertical planes. But id would be awesome to preserve them on the base\upper plane
well the inference to guide thing is just that.
sometimes sketchup would fail to grab on a guide while drawing, and now it’s better at grabbing guidelines.
with luck you never had the problem, and thus you won’t feel the difference, but people working with a lot of guides might I guess.
well i try to make a parallel\perpendicular line to an existing rotated guide line - no luck. Maybe devs meant something else
Not really sure what you mean but, parallel and perpendicular are pretty simple.
And if you meant perpendicular that way.
2024 has got enough things wrong with it that we can not upgrade. Happened with the 2023 release as well, so its back to 2022 for us, the last stable(ish) release.
That is the reply of someone who hasn’t bothered to test it, or perhaps even learn it.

Color by material is broken. Have tested it thoroughly and it simply does not work as it no longer appears in layout. This alone breaks our workflow. This is confirmed by other users.
So you have one issue that has been acknowledged.

Make a freely rotated guige line, start a line (with a pencil tool) in vicinity; hoover over guide line in order to make parallel - it’s not implemented
