You Folks are correct, I must have have selected SU 2023 by mistake.
Obviously wishful thinking.
I just installed SU Pro 2024 (Window PC) & Iām having the exact same issue. SU 2023 worked fine but 2024 has some serious bug with the UI.
Pretty much makes SU 2024 unusable.
Great work SU Team!
Please fix ASAP or refund us our money & bring back 2023!!!
Why not just reinstall 2023 until the UI issue is resolved?
Thatās not so easy now weāre on the subscription plan. Iām in Aust. so have to contact the reseller here to get them to downgrade my subscription back to 2023. This all takes time & is a pretty big PITA. Good thing I use other 3D software that I can actually rely on workingā¦which is cheaper than SUā¦go figure.
You can use your subscription on any version.
One of the benefits of sketchup yearly update is it installs as a separate application and as such you have no need to remove 2023 to install 2024.
If you have removed it, just download it again and install it.
Gāday Box. Long time no see. I had to log into my SketchUp Products & click the āManage Devicesā link then āDe-authorise Allā, log out & in again & SU 2023 is working again. Plus make sure to click āskip updateā when it launchesā¦thank you very muchā¦lol.
Received instructions from my Aussie reseller after I submitted a ticket to them. Had time to go to the doctor, get my infected finger lancedā¦ouchā¦to much info? Get back home to find a reply from them with instructions on how to reinstall 2023.
Finger feels a bit better, SU is working againā¦happy daysā¦for now.
Let us know when they fix SU 2024
Sketchup Pro (2024) for Windows 10 Crashes with Dual Display
When the program is operating on the primary display, menus appear on the secondary display. All toolbars are consistently reset upon opening the program. Program crashes when tooltip attempts to display next to cursor.
If the program is only run on the secondary display, or the secondary display is disconnected, it is able to run without issue.
Software: Sketchup Pro (2024)
Operating System: Windows 10 Pro (10.0.19045 Build 19046)
Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X 8-Core, 3700 Mhz
Graphics: Radeon RX 580 Series
Dual Monitors - Same Type
Monitor 01 - 2560 x 1440 Resolution, ACER (Left) Display Port Connection
Monitor 02 - 2560 x 1440 Resolution, ACER (Right) Display Port Connection
Currently we are unable to use SketchUp at our office.
Iām having the same issue. And whenever I launch SketchUp 2024, it always opens on subMonitor . It might not seem like a big deal, but each little inconvenience adds up and increases workload.
Hereās the solution I found: " uninstall SketchUp 2024 "
We have a patch release coming out soon. We believe this issue has been resolved. Can you please take a look and let us know if this is still an issue? Thanks, Kath
You are being too optimistic.
Being on Win 10, I have had several start-up issues that did not produce bug splats. I did find I had two Trimbal Connect toolbars that were different from each other. I removed the extension that had 4 icons, and then installed the version from The Trimbal connect website. Then I went into Windows settings, set the graphics settings for advanced GPU scheduling to utilize SU for performance. It is now stable and quick as advertised, other than some of the minor issues that have been identified.
Iām looking forward to it!
I will definitely let you know how I try the new patch.
OFF-TOPIC: About Trimble Connect and SketchUp 2024 ... (click to expand) ...
The Trimble Connect extension for SketchUp is no longer needed (and does not fully work) with SketchUp 2024.
Trimble Connect communication is now built-into SketchUp.
The TC extension EW page says ā¦
Version 2.0.10 Update: With the SketchUp 2024.0 update, this extension is no longer recommended for use. Instead, learn about new, native Trimble Connect functionality in SketchUp. If you do install this extension in newer versions of SketchUp, we recommend only using the Import command. Other extension commands may produce unreliable results in 2024.0 and newer versions.
Same here!
My setup:
Left screen (#3) - Landscape - 2K 2560x1440 Scale 100%
Main screen (#2) - Landscape - 2K 2560x1440 Scale 100%
Right screen (#1) - Laptop i9 - 4k 2560x1600 Scale 150%
Bottom screen (#4) - USB monitor - 1k 1920x1080 scale 175%
SketchUp opens on the left screen all the tine (Even after repositioning and closing the main window)
All dropped down menus opens on the left screen, top right corner.
Right click menus also pop up on the left screen right on the right edge.
Layout work fine.
Already tried:
- resetting the workspace
- repairing the installation through the install file as administrator.
- completely uninstalled and reinstalled
Tried to virtually rearrange and test SketchUp main menu:
setup 1: screen #3 to the right of the main #2, menu start popping up on the left top of the screen #3
setup 2: screen #3 below the main #2, menu start popping up horizontally, were they supposed to be, but at the top of the screen #3.
I will provide an update the moment I see the patch come through. Is it expected sometime this month?
Same crash issues as described above when using extended displays. Adjacent pull-downs, bug splats, etc.

Hi,
Iām currently using a 3 monitor setup and it opens up on my side monitor, whenever I move it to the center it will crash when trying to draw anything.
A user in another thread had this, they updated all of their drivers and it worked.
I have the latest version of the video driver, it does not solve the problem.
What other drivers might affect this?
Unfortunately, some special screen configurations are not be supported by SU 2024. (For example, on my dual-screen laptop it wonāt work unless I turn off the secondary screen, which is not an option for me.)
At the moment, the āpatch release coming out soonā what @kath mentioned above is only a potential solution - ābelievedā internally, but so far there is not proven by anyone I know.
