Hi, I am using 2 monitors.
When Sketchup window is at the left monitor, all the drop down menu are showing at my 2nd monitor on the right regardless maximising or reducing the window size of Sketchup. Basically all the drop down menus are stuck to the 2nd monitor at the side.
But if the Sketchup window is placed on the right monitor, it works perfectly with the drop down menu right below each corresponding tabs.
Is there a way to rectify that?
There are already several topics about SU 2024 having a massive problem with some multi-screen settings. There is currently no solution, but they are said to be working on it.
Until we get a fix, donāt use two (or more) monitors or do not use SU 2024.
Unfortunately you are right, for example, I canāt use it at all because it immediately crashes with bugsplat if I want to use any Tool.
All other pervious versions of Sketchup are working for me, so not a big deal, but annoying.
Thanks you Dezmo, I am using 2023 for now. Yes, it was a little disappointing but since it is only launch in April, I hope our feedbacks will help 2024 team to come back soon on the fixes. Really excited to try the new feature!
I found a work around that allows me to use 2024 on my main monitor.
My system is using four monitors. One is on the integrated card and if I use that monitor as my main display in windows 11 display settings SketchUp works as intended. Unfortunately that is not the card or monitor I wish to run from.
I found out of the other three monitors Sketchup does not want to open menus on the display that is set to main in the display settings. It also prefers to use the last monitor which was plugged in. It seems to work in that order. If I set my middle monitor as my main display then my left monitor claims the menus. If I set my left monitor as my main display then the menus go to the Middle and correct display. They were going to the right display but I deleted registry settings so it would reorder and reassign the monitors. I followed instructions on the registry fix at this site
Before you go to the trouble with the registry fix though just try making a monitor other than the intended Sketchup display your main display then unplug and plug back in the intended Sketchup display.
It stinks that my main display is no longer my main display for windows but at least Sketchup is working correctly now on the display I need it on. Hope they soon find a proper repair.
No, just curiousāespecially good to know if I see a āupdateā dialogue whether I should avoid clicking or not. Right now the only bug Iām experiencing when extensions are disabled is the cursor disappearing.
I donāt know about Mac, but on Windows Sketchup 2024 have a significant number of issues to handle multiple monitors, in a certain circumstances (like mine) it is impossible to use. I uninstalled it and do not recommend SU2024 for anyone else. I do not see any chance if fix is coming in this year.
i also have issues on my mac with multiple monitors but of a different variety (in both layout and sketchup).
Layout: dragging a window in layout often causes part of the layout drawing window to āblack outā and the window needs to be resized or a zoom extents performed for the window to re-generate
Sketchup: tool palettes have difficulty maintaining their position (unless docked to each other); if one is placed too close to another it will often āpushā it into another screen.
