can you compress this file please…
If you want someone to look at your file, you have to share it!!
It was linked earlier in this topic!
I assume that by “compress” you mean “simplify”, not compress as for example in a zip file or jpeg image. Unfortunately, I know of no magic wand to do this, and even using extensions such as skimp (not free), it would take a very large amount of time that I don’t have.
Your best approach might be to save the offending objects as components in their own files and replace them with simpler proxy objects that convey the overall size and shape without all the details. Then you can try simplifying the components one-by-one without struggling under the weight of the whole thing at one time. For a final render you can swap the originals back in place of the proxies (there are extensions to manage this).
But given how massive the initial model is and how sluggish it makes SketchUp, even saving and redrawing the components would take more time than I can afford. Sorry!
I have the same problem, can you help me reduce/purge the file? I’m sorry were new in sketchup https://drive.google.com/file/d/1KoC8mkFgTCSdryRpMAyKHHEUzl4iaLnW/view?usp=share_link
Could you make the link give access to anyone? At the moment I can’t download the file.
Hi @colin can you help me the same…please
Can you change the link so that anyone with the link can get the file?
Im facing the same problem, can anyone open the file for me please?
Problem is that I exported the architectural model from Revit and its been really difficult to work with. I really appreciate your help!
Will you be able to purge the file?
If you opened it, use Purge first, don’t try to work with it.
It’s no wonder. It’s ridiculously huge.
I did some cleanup.
Fixed incorrect tag usage:
Purged unused stuff from the file.
I also resized 17 excessively large textures.
This cleanup reduced the file size by 79%.If the model is, as the title imples, about the bathrooms, You could get rid of a lot more stuff. This file is still much larger than it really needs to be.
By the way, There are a number of reversed faces in your model. You should correct those especially if you intend to run the model through a rendering application.
Here’s the purged file. Before you go any farther trying to work with it, clean it up more or you will quickly just be back in the same boat.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! Will clean it up now. I really appreciate your help
