I’ve been running SketchUp Make 2017 with no issues until today. I blame it on a recent Windows 10 update but in any case, I couldn’t open an existing model or start SketchUp alone, it would die after I selected a template and hit “start using SketchUp”. I finally found this article: Important Update on a few Potential SketchUp 2017 issues on Windows and removing the "Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable (x64) and (x32) programs then re-installing SketchUp did the trick.
