Better component browser function including a simple way to search the in-model list of components has been a repeated request pushing ten years now. Please SketchUp, we can integrate AI rendering diffusion magic, but I still can’t search a simple basic list?
Just a few,

from 2023:
The request still stands, for many years now, it feels like a reasonable thing to have the search bar in the component browser perform a search of the in model components. With hundreds of components it’s often hard to find one. Another option would be to select a component in the model space and then see it selected and highlighted in the component window list, but that does not work either.

It would be helpful to be able to search my local database to filter my components within my Components window on Mac. Currently, if I search within the components window, it shows me all results from the 3D warehouse. If I wanted to find things within the 3D warehouse, I could just open the 3D Warehouse window. I’d rather be able to see only files within the folder I am currently viewing, or the entire library of subfolders within the parent folder. This is something that AutoCAD allows for wit…

Hi all,
is there a way to find component by name? I can’t believe we don’t have this option available. If I try to search it takes me to the warehouse. I want to quickly find a handle component that I’m using in the model.
Hi everybody.
Can someone tell me if the search bar in Components window works fine?
Maybe I’m doing something wrong.
According to the book I’m reading, I should be able to get this result if I look for “fabric roskes”

But the search returns an empty result.
However, I can find the moder through the 3D warehouse

It’s not a big deal, but It’s not the first time this happens to me (following the book instructions), so … am I doing something wrong?
Thanks in advance.
I have a long list of named components in a model.
I wanted to find one by name in the component browser, to use Select Instances to see where it is used i the model drawing window, and/or to place a new one.
I know I can do the former using Outliner (provided I have Expand All selected).
But if I type something in the Components Window Search box, I only seem to be able to search in the 3D warehouse.
I can’t find anything useful in SU help with the search term ‘Components Window’.
