Hi When I use Follow Me to generate a box with rounded corners, ‘holes’ appear in the corners. I have made countless attempts with different settings but I can not get rid of the holes. Is there a way to avoid these gaps?
Make it so the bottom of the profile comes short of the centers of the arcs. You also need to scale the model up or use the Dave Method. I used the Dave Method on the right.
I do not quite understand what you mean? Is it because Follow Me takes the starting point in the outer (right) edge of the vertical profile, and the inner lower corner therefore becomes less than zero?
No. It is because Follow Me always keeps the profile perpendicular to the segments of the path. That is why the corner part cannot be a clean eighth of a sphere. FredoCorner or RoundCorner plugin can do this cleanly.
The method worked without problems. Scaled up by 10. Drove Follow Me on the upscaled component, the original was updated and Solid Inspector reported no issues. Then I made the original Unique, and deleted the upscaled version. Reasonably easy method when you just find out how it works.
No need to do that. The large one is just a copy or second instance, so deleting it has no effect on the original. Deleting the geometry within the component would.
