Follow me, along a curved surface

Hi, I have been using SketchUp now for a few days. I have now run into a challenge I hope someone here can help me with. I have tried using the “Follow me” tool to cut a curve along an object. It works great up to the point where I want it to follow a half circle. It does follow the half circle, but it also removes the surface of the curve. Is there somthing I am doing wrong with the tool or is there an easy way to “heal” the surface?

Very likely this is something quite small and you’re running into a thing in which SketchUp won’t create very short edge segments and thus very small faces. Try undoing and scale the model up by a factor of 100. Better, use the Dave Method.
