Hi
I have a perpetual licence for skketchup pro 2019.
I have it running on my old laptop and need to move it to the new one.
When i try to put in user name it tells me that it is an invalid format.
@colin seem to have been able to help some other users and im hoping to get some help sorting this out.
I dont want to remove it from old laptop and end up with no sketchup at all.
Thanks jaiby77
hello, there’s no user name to enter when activating classic licenses, only a serial (starting with UA for 2019 version) and an authorization code.
The only thing is that with those old versions, you might not be able to reach the internet and sketchup can think you’re offline, you’ll have to modify a file to fix that.

Hi Paul
Thank you very much for you reply.
I have attached two pics of the screens I get when I open 2019.
Sorry for the quality… phone shots of screen.( new laptop and I don’t know how to screen cap).
I click on Sign in and it takes me to this Trimble sign in page.
I have a user name, UA number and authorisation code from 2019.
I can’t find anywhere to enter them.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers James
Isn’t there an “add a classic license” hyperlink at the bottom of the welcome screen on your first screenshot ? I can’t see as it is cropped
Ok thanks… I will check it out
Hi Paul
I feel a bit stupid now… but thank you for taking the time to reply to me.
I thought classic license was not for the pro version.
I now have it installed on my new laptop.
Thanks again.
James
I’m glad you all figured it out, probably while I was asleep!
I see the new activation on your 2019 license, so that looks good.
Only thing I wanted to add was that the article I wrote, that Paul linked to, only affected 2018 and earlier. Some other issues we have only affect 2017 and earlier. Your 2019 should have worked, and didn’t need the work arounds that were needed for 2018.
Thanks Colin for you reply.
I am amazed at the help offered on this forum to a brand new member.
Thank you.
