My request is to have the change in dimension leader direction be detected, and respond
by adjusting the alignment of the text accordingly. Attached is a video showing the extra step that has to be taken every time dimension text with a leader attached is moved.

Good Feature requerst.
Sounds like a reasonable fine idea to me as a default behaviour.
Any control over text & leaders is welcome since it can make all the difference in a particular situation, even if it’s not something we’d use every day.

There was some discussion about changing the Text Box element to automatically Shrink to the size of the text.
Would that be a better solution?
The text box size can still be edited manually if you wanted a consistent size across your text boxes). Perhaps the option would need to be turned off or on.
