I was working on this file till yesterday but now for a sudden the file is not opening. It says the file not found or invalid. Please do something as i have the only file?
I won’t see a solution in all the other topics. Please help me to recover this file. I was just finished so I am a bit disappointed that this problem occurred.
That file is more than 60% zeroes. Nothing to recover. Where have you been saving the file as you’ve been working on it?
What version of SketchUp are you really using? You put Free Plan 2023 in your forum profile. The Free Plan is a web based version that runs in an internet browser. Is that what you are using? If so, there should be an earlier versions in your Trimble Connect storage.
If you are actually using SketchUp Pro, there should be a .skb version of the file in the same folder you were saving the .skp file in. Share that so we can see if it’s viable.
Please correct your forum profile with the right information.
Maybe. Sometimes the .skb file can be recovered when the .skp cannot. You could share it with us and see if we have any luck. If you open a new session of SketchUp does the welcome window show that there is a recovered version of the file available? You might look in your user AppData folder for Local/SketchUp/SketchUp 2023/SketchUp/working/SKETCHUP/RecoveredFiles and see if there’s a copy of the file there that can be opened. AppData is a normally hidden folder but you can make hidden folders visible in Windows File Explorer under View>Options.
same here, how can i fix my skp file which is marked as invalid when i try to open it, there is amessage saying that it does not appear to be a sketchup file
Do you have a file that won’t open? Share the file so we can try to help you.

What operating system are you using? You put “sketchup 2024” which is not an operating system. It would be some version of Windows or Mac OS. Please correct that information in your profile.
The .skp file contains nothing but zeroes. There’s absolutely nothing to recover there. The .skb file seems to be missing a large chunk of data but it is not entirely zeroes. It might be that @colin can retrieve something from it when he gets to work on Tuesday but I wouldn’t hold my breath.
