Everything disappeared in my file

Hi everyone,

Something very strange happened to my file. I was simply dezooming and now everything disappeared except for the text labels, the rest is completely grey.

Is there any chance to get everything back as my file was finished?

Thanks in advance for your help!

What happens when you use the “zoom extents” command? (Camera → Zoom Extents)

Hi,
The text labels recenters, that’s it.
And I don’t know if it changes anything but I am on Sketch up Make and not Web.

Thanks already for your quick reaction.

Btw this is a printscreen of what my file was looking before crashing

There are a few places to check if your model is there.

  1. Window → Model info → Statistics
(This will tell you if there’s more than just text there)
  2. Window → Outliner
(This displays any groups or components)
  3. Window → Components → In Model
(This displays any components you’ve made, even if you’ve deleted them from your model space.)

Also, I noticed that you’re multilingual, but you might prefer to write in French. It looks like you’re using the English version of SketchUp. There is a French version of SketchUp Make at this link under Français.

Here is what I get :

It would probably help to upload the SKP file. As this involves text and zoom extents does not work maybe there is something straying at a far distance from the origin.

I think it looks like your model might still be there. If you select all, copy, and paste your entire model into a new SketchUp file, then what shows up?

I’m not a computer right now, so I’ll have to pass the ball…

I copied the model to a new file. Did I miss anything?

If you compare screenshots from “model info>statistics” before and after you should be able to figure exactly what’s been taken from the new version.

I fixed two text objects “Frigo” and “Four”. This is a known bug with text that gets corrupted sometimes. I haven’t deleted anything, so you shouldn’t have lost anything.

Text Fix Results

Found problem text: “Frigo”

It seems I lost all the guides, guide points, and a couple texts. Sorry, that’s the best I can do.

:raised_hands: You saved me!! Thanks a lot!
Just one thing my measures are no longer in meter, how can I switch back to that parameter?

They’re still in cm in the file I shared. If you want to change the units go to Window → Model Info → Units.
