I highly doubt that your PC is not up to running SU as being the problem. I managed to get SU Make 17 to install AND run on a cheap POS Wal-Mart Tablet/Laptop.
It’s specs are:
Celeron N4000 1.10 GHz
4 gb ram
32 gb eMMC hd
Intel UHD 600 graphics
It installed and runs SU Make 17 with no issues. Now I am sure it will lock up when faced with SU models of any complexity but it does run with no BSOD. Something else is up with your laptop
