Sure thing @Rossetto, I’ll get you added right now. You should be all set to deploy the app if you have not already done so. Just make sure you do not skip any steps as you deploy the app as that can cause issues later on. It may take a few minutes for our database to update but I do not expect it to be longer than 5 minutes at most so if you are still seeing an error by the time this post is live, let me know right away.
I hope you and your students enjoy using SketchUp as much as I do!
Hi @dmercieca, thanks for the post and sorry to hear that you are having difficulty accessing SketchUp for Schools.
I am happy to work with you to troubleshoot the issue. That particular error message typically indicates that something went wrong with the deployment. It may be possible to fix it with with just a redeployment of the app. Just make sure you do not miss any steps as you deploy the app from the app store. I have linked a video below that shows the process so just follow along and you are all set.
If it does not fix the issue, it would be nice if you could open the developer console on Chrome and share a screenshot of the error message in the developer console as I may be able to find an answer in there.
Anyway, let me know if the redeployment fixes it or not and we can go from there!
Tried to remove enterprise app from our tenant but still same issue. I opened an incognito window as specified in the video but still same result. Chrome console shows:
Microsoft K12 status: {
“allowedClassroomAccess”: false,
“isWhitelisted”: false
}
Hi @dmercieca, thanks for the post. It is curious that you are seeing that particular error message. It points to a bad deployment but if you already re-deployed the app as per the video instructions, you should be all set to go. For ease of use I will link the Microsoft instructions again at the bottom of this post so you can triple check everything just in case. I’ll take a few minutes aside this afternoon to reach out to our resident expert on this to see if she has any ideas.
I should also ask, you are a k-12 school, right? I have been working under that assumption given that you are trying to access the k-12 version of SketchUp but I want to be sure before I continue to work with that in mind.
I do not need you to confirm anything in Azure regarding being a k-12 school or not. Just a simple yes or no is all I am looking for so I know what process to follow on my end to try and get you up and running.
Hmm… this is definitely an odd one. The error message tells me that the app is not deployed properly but you said you followed all the steps correctly so I am at a loss on what to try now and so is our expert. If you are 100% sure you or your IT team followed all the steps then we may need to dig a bit deeper to solve this one.
I’ll see if we can get something else for you to try and also see if we can schedule a support call sometime if I can not come up with anything for you.
Thanks for all your support, unfortunately we are still experiencing same issue. If possible to have a call would be great. I can see that the SketchUp for Schools is in Entra Enterprise applications, tried to remove it and add it again several times to no avail.
Hi again @dmercieca, thanks for the update. I just made a change to a database entry to try and solve this before we try and schedule a support call. Can you try redeploying the app one last time and let me know if it works now? If not, can you grab a screenshot of the message you are seeing in the developer mode console? I want to check if my change had any effect.
Hi @glynn, thanks for the post. I am happy to work with you to get you up and running. Before we get started though I need to know if you are using Google or Microsoft to deploy the app. It would also be helpful to know the exact error (if any) that you are seeing. Once I know all of that I can start the process of getting you into our domain database.
Hello @CaseyG , thanks for the reply! We are using Google to deploy the app. I have included a screenshot of the error we receive intermittently. Sometimes it works and other times we receive a white screen with the Sketchup logo. Thank you!
Thanks for the additional info. If any students are able to log in at all, that points to an account level issue and not a firewall issue on our end so while I am happy to add you to our database, that will not help the users that are seeing the error you posted.
I recommend checking that cookies and pop ups are enabled for our site on the account in question. Sometimes students change these settings without knowing that it will mess up the login process. If you do not know how to do that, let me know what browser you are using and I can post a walkthrough for you to help out.
If you have already checked this on an account level, then it is likely a domain wide issue but the fact that it works sometimes is curious and I may need some additional information. Specifically, a screenshot of the developer mode console as the error is occurring would be helpful. Let me know if you can grab that for me.
Hopefully it is just a simple settings issue and we can get you up and running soon!
