Domain Registration Requests

Hi @twilson, thanks for the post! I went ahead and looked in our database and it looks like you are already in there. While it is possible that something changed and is keeping you out, I can confirm that it is not a firewall issue. I’ll go ahead and ping @Tori_SU and see if she has any ideas on what might be wrong.

In the meantime, feel free to run through the usual troubleshooting steps like clearing cookies and cached files. Also please let me know if the issue is domain wide or not. Knowing that will help us narrow down the cause.

Hi @CaseyG

Please add the Microsoft domain @generations.edu.mo to be whitelisted.
Our website is https://www.generations.edu.mo
We have kindergarten, primary and secondary class in our school.

Thanks,
Arthur

We have two teachers that manage to connect, but all students and myself (as an admin of the domain) just get stuck in the loop of trying to sign in via Google.
We have tried clear out the cache and even powerwashing a chromebook to try. I also removed sketchup from my connected account on Google, and then re-authed it.
Thanks,
Tom

Hi @arthurche and @twilson. Thanks for the posts. I’ll try and get both of the issues sorted out as quickly as possible so just look for your username for the part that is relevant to you.

First up I’ll address you arthurche. I was able to add you to our database no problem so you should be all set to deploy the app. Just make sure that you follow all the steps as you deploy the app as failure to do so will cause issues later on. If you need a video outlining the steps, just refer back to the post I made on February 14th for what you need to do.

Now on to you twilson. If you are not able to access SketchUp for Schools, you can try a few different things to see if it helps. Now as you have tried clearing the cache and cookies already, we can skip that step and move on to the next steps. If it is domain wide or nearly domain wide, that points towards one thing but if if it is only one or two users that points to something else. Based on what you described it sounds like it is near domain wide but if I am mistaken please feel free to correct me.

My hope is that it is just a bad deployment as that is an easy fix and just involves redeploying the app. If you are a google environment, make sure to use the super admin account to deploy the app as a regular admin will not work. Also make sure popups are allowed and that cookies are allowed for our site as they are required for the login process to resolve. If that does not help at all, let me know and I’ll call in @Tori_SU for some advice.

@CaseyG I am also having problems with our SketchUpForSchools log in. Our domain was whitelisted, does it need doing again?
We are a K-12 education Our school is homeeducated.org.uk and enablededucation.org though it is domain homeeducated.org.uk which has the Microsoft Edu Log in’s.
I have followed the instructions and added cookiesI also watched the video for onbording with Microsoft and followed the instructions for that as all our login’s are Microsoft Edu log in’s.
I went through the instructions onthe video right up to the two factor authentication and got a 502 Bad Gateway error.
Previously we were just getting the ‘Should you be here message’
I may have made it worse! Your help is very much appreciated. Thank you.

Hi again @EnabledEdu, thanks for the post and sorry to hear that things are not working as intended. A 502 is definitely not your fault as it seems that something is wrong on our end. Tori is looking into a fix and I hope to have an update for you soon so for now, just wait a little longer and let me know if anything changes on your end on Monday. Hopefully we can get a fix deployed quickly.

Thank you so very much. I will keep you updated if anything changes.
Best wishes,
Marie

Thanks for the help @CaseyG ,
But when I add new use to the domain application group, they cannot access the app, since I completed Permission request before you whitelisted us, should I delete inside domain application and rejoin?

Hi @CaseyG

We are a K-12 division also experiencing the “Are you in the right place?” loop. Could you please check that our domain is whitelisted?

Domain: rdpsd.ab.ca
Website: https://www.rdpsd.ab.ca/

Thanks,
Matt

Sure thing @mhenry! I just ran a check and did not see you in there so I went ahead and added you a few minutes ago. Hopefully that is all we needed to do to get you up and running.

As for you @arthurche it should be fine without redeploying the app as long as you deployed the app via a super admin account. Regular admin won’t work. You are welcome to re-deploy the app if you would like, although I am not sure if it would matter. If you are still getting an error asking if you are in the right place, we may need to move to a different thread to start troubleshooting a bit.

Hello!

I am a Tech at a the West Sonoma County Union High School District. My Google domain is @wscuhsd.org

Our school Websites are https://www.wscuhsd.org

Hi @blee97, thanks for the post. As I already added you to our database you are all set! Just make sure you don’t skip any steps as you deploy the app as it will cause issues later on.

Thanks @CaseyG,

That seems to have done the trick. I appreciate your help.

Hello CaseyG, Update so far. We are still getting the bad gateway sadly.
Many thanks
Marie

Thanks for letting me know. I’ll message the rest of the team and see what can be done to get you up and running as soon as possible.

Hi @EnabledEdu, thanks for waiting for us on this. A question came up about firewalls as we were discussing this particular case and I realized that I am not sure if you are using one or not. Can you let me know if you are using a firewall or not and if so, if you configured it to allow access for SketchUp for Schools?

We are also unable to login. My email address is mmichael@stmarysschool.org

@stmarysschool.org
@stmarysmemphis.net

Hello CaseyG, There are no firewalls that I am aware of. I have had it tested remotely as well and get the same error.
Are there any Microsoft Office settings I should be aware of? We have Educational A1 Microsoft licence if that makes a difference?
Best wishes, Marie

Hi
We were able to access Sketchup last term, but this year students get stuck in “Are you in the right place?” loop
