Constant bug splat while working

Hi!

For months now, I’ve been experiencing constant crashes, and I keep getting the same error. I haven’t been able to identify a pattern — it happens with completely random tasks, and it’s not like I’m working with particularly complex or heavy models either.

Today, in particular, I had two drawing windows open. The one that crashed was the one I wasn’t actively using; it was just displayed on the second monitor.

I’m attaching the error report:

Thanks!

yes. it means it crashed because of something graphic related.

your profile tells you have a Nvidia GPU, what reference?

do you have Nvidia’s app installed, and if so, are the drivers up to date ?
@colin might know more about the crash, #1143299

here it is (im sorry its in italian..)

You should update the graphics drivers direct from nVidia. Driver Results | <dd~ProductName> | <dd~OSName>

Keep in mind that your graphics card is getting old and is relatively low-performing these days.

Yeah, I’m wondering if it is the cause.

someone had a similar issue, and Dan pointed out that their GPU could be on the border of not compatible with directX12
and their GPU is right above yours in the list.

you might need to rely on the older engine for endurance work, and turn the new one back on only for specific tasks.

On Windows, if you had another model window open, that meant another instance of SketchUp was open. I can imagine a case where the foreground SketchUp saves a change to files also being used by the background SketchUp, in a way that upset it.

The post was in regard to a Quadro K2200 …

… however, although the Quadro P660 appears in the benchmark list below the K2200, I am told it is actually newer and a different architecture (Pascal).

But I agree that the graphics driver should be updated via the Nvidia App (Experience) and I recommend the Studio driver for your high-end machine.

Hi there everyone! thank you all for the help and information, i have updated the drivers and so far..its going even worse the whole pc indeed haha i guess im going have to change it..

thanks again!
