Thanks Dave for your reply. Like I said I am a novice when it comes to computers. I am not familiar with all the file formats so I am limited to what I am equipped to open. I did find a list by Googling it that will do the trick. ( a PDF)
Can’t afford the pro version just yet, just starting out.
According to what you wrote in your profile, you’ll be using SketchUp for your business. SketchUp Free and SketchUp Make are not licensed for that.
Well, Right now I am only trying to learn the program. When I am ready to use it for my business I’ll will go with the pro version. If you read my profile you will see that I am a hobbyist and I am only in the startup stage right now. I haven’t even gotten a tax number yet. I am working with the Small Business Development Center Here in PA to help me with the details of getting started. My plan is to learn how to use Sketchup now then by the time I am ready to open the business I will know how to use the program efficiently enough to spend the money on the Pro Version.

Quick Reference Cards = Quick Reference Cards 2018 EN | SketchUp
This is a great topic, and a very nice way you have explained of thinking about what to use.
i am researching this topic again, as i would like to standardize an office of users with scripts, prefs and shortcuts.
I ran across a similar (now retired) thread discussing the topic of custom shortcuts which has a downloadable PDF that is arrange very nicely and has many of the authors shortcut selections available in that PDF as well as a PREFERENCES text file. I found this to be very helpful a few years ago when i first started looking around.

I have finally accomplished re-assigning my Keyboard Shortcuts so that almost all my most used commands are within a finger’s reach of my left hand resting at the corner of my keyboard. Using a three-button mouse for all camera movements allows me to design with almost no cursor trips to the toolbar for normal work. This arrangement also sharply reduces having to look at the keyboard as the keystrokes can be accomplished by touch alone.
Here is my Keyboard Shortcut List: (starting with the bottom key row, left to right.)
Z= Move
Shift Z= Fredo Movealong
X= Line
Shift X= Freehand Line Draw
Alt X= Explode
C= Circle
Shift C= Make Component
V= View Hidden Geometry (Toggle on/off)
Alt V= View Toolbars
B= Paint Bucket
A= Change Axes
Shift A= Draw Arc (2 Point)
S= Scale
Shift S= Fredo Scale
D= Delete
Shift D= Dimensioning Tool
F= Push/Pull Tool
Shift F= Follow Me
G= Group
Shift G= Close Group/Component
H= Hide
Shift H= Unhide
Q= Rotate
W= Select None
E= Erase
R= Rectangle
Shift R= Rotated Rectangle
T= Tape Measure

It’s the Woy Woy or Wagga Wagga of shortcut lists, so good you have to say it twice.

Walla Walla, Wonga Wonga, Woy Woy, Yabba Yabba
WWOOOOWWW!!! \o/ TY !
Thanks for that. I’ve included the list in my new free booklet (with acknowledgment.)
Trigger warning!- There’s an ad at the end of it.
Le_Corb, that’s a nice list of handy shortcuts. I adopted 3 of them. However, I prefer my key choice for “Paste in Place” as shift V. It is similar to the familiar paste function of control V.
Have to say, I prefer my keyboard shortcut list which puts almost all commands within range of the left hand.
Shift+v is nothing more than V.
True that, except that I switched V over to View Hidden Objects (toggle) . My left hand very seldom needs to lift off of the keyboard rest.
It does make sense and does indeed work.
