Can't open models - can't make anything work

VR Sketch respects the shadows set in the Sketchup palette but is also entirely dynamic within VR, you can set date and time of day whilst in VR using the same slider system as SU. You can also set custom skyboxes.

Thanks @bifterx - very fancy.

Do you happen to know if they built with Unity Reflect?

No idea I’m afraid. :man_shrugging:

Thanks anyway. You’re making it obvious that I need to dive in and get to know their app. DapperDan said install was a problem… I didn’t read much on that… just the basics here: Download VR Sketch

Maybe I’ll record my adventures and post them here or in another thread. Thanks again for highlighting VR Sketch.

TBH, its super simple. just a .rbz to install in SU and get the quest app from app lab. You just need to pair up the headset with the extension using a number key that’s generated in SU.
I think you need an account to enable the cloud storage but that’s about it.

Set up was quick and easy. There was a menu that seemed stuck and I just didn’t go back to play around with it to figure out what was up with it.

Just as a wrap on the topic of frustration with the ‘VR’ apps… I’ve failed dozens of times a day to get some ‘VR’ stuff going with Oculus/Meta/Quest for at least the last week. That’s why I’m a fan clear instructions :).

Happy Holidays.

Wow! just enabled this app on Quest3 this morning and while sketching rectangles in first minute just saw they are appearing on my PC desktop…super cool! Now I must proceed to get my PC sketches back to VR…thanks to all hear for the info… Looking forward to using VR Sketch more.

And I just found sending the model is easy and it is awesome to see my own largish file working there on Quest wirelessly from PC model on my desktop - kudos to VR Sketch team! Now I must learn how to navigate better but it is such a thrill to walk inside my own model today! Much more fun than viewing other folk’s demos… Thanks again VR Sketch team and SketchUp team for this amazing extension I just learned of this morning from this forum.

Is this working in SketchUp 2014 Make?

SketchUp 2026 subscription.

I am just walking around inside my model and seeing all my mistakes in 1:1 scale - super interesting…I have to learn their interface but if I can soon learn how to grab and move stuff etc inside it is is like a dream!

Ah … Please update your forum profile. It’s pretty old.

Ok have not been here for a long time but will take a look…sorry about that…
