Cannot Select Object or Tool

Hello,

Sketchup 2024 // Macbook M2 Max // Sonoma 14.5

After roughly 30 mins of continuous use I lose the ability to select objects, create objects and/or change tools.

I typically have to restart the program which will buy me a few mins. Full system restarts buy me another 30 mins. The complexity of the model does not change this.

Is anyone else experiencing this? If yes, did you have a fix for it? This really slows down the workflow.

Some other app I have going are: iMusic, iMessage, Chrome and Word. This is the typical setup.

Do you have the problem with a specific file?

Maybe the problem is because of the file.

However, 30 minutes is exaggerated for the restart of a mac.

Happens on all files. I will do a video capture next time I am in working on a project.

It takes me to do a complete restart less than 2 minutes. Also starting SketchUp.

I think the OP means that after a restart of the computer he gets about 30 mins of SketchUp working properly before it misbehaves again and becomes unresponsive. NOT that the restart takes 30 mins.

See if what I wrote here might apply to your case:

If it does apply to you, when it happens click to get to any other application, and either click or Command-tab to get back to SketchUp.

Just an update. It still happens, it happens less, but still. Typically I still have to close Sketchup and restart. I am sure there were some updates on both Mac OS and Sketchup that helped.
