Basecamp is biennial (every two years). Next one is in 2020!
Ok. Thanks!
I’m looking forward to actually attending the whole event this time rather than just catching the last two days. Also really forward to putting some more faces to names. Who knows, maybe by next year I’ll have progressed my plugins far enough that they justify putting up a table.
And here’s another example of why forum names should be on the badges!
Arrrggghh! I think 2020 might be the year I actually attend SketchUp Basecamp! I’ve wanted to do this FOR. SO. LONG. Time to set some goals for 2020!
@DaveR are you going?! This is so exciting!
Well, it’s about time!
I plan to go.
We can be Basecamp Buddies!
I agree, I left it far too long. This is like, an important milestone in one’s SketchUp journey. I wonder is there an award for your first attendance. Nothing special. Maybe just a gold plated thing. In 3D, of course…
I don’t know but for you, there’ll probably be something.
@DaveR You always know the right thing to say
Do you think they will provide information on nearby/recommended accommodation closer to the time?
Aw shucks.
Yes. I’m sure they will provide that. Don’t worry. There’ll be lots of info when the time comes.
@DaveR Are you attending the full 5 day activities or just the Basecamp? I guess it would be silly for me to travel from Belfast to only attend a 3 day event, huh?! I mean, jeepers the jet-lag alone! You’d see grumpy Neets I think!
At Palm Springs there was Knowledge Cafe, and it was open for the five days. Me, Dave, and many other ‘Sages’ took turns to be in there. In the hope that it happens again in Vancouver, I feel sure Dave will be there for the five days.
Yea, I’d say @DaveR will most likely attend all 5 days. I must have a chat with some of my SketchUp pals and see if they are interested in going too. It would be nice to have a few travelling companions
I regretted missing 2016, so became determined to go to 2018. I’m so glad I went, particularly to meet many of the people from this forum in person. One tough lesson I learned: don’t ever loose your rent a car key!
@RTCool I read your story. Yikes! What a nightmare, it was like something from the Griswolds! Obviously I’ll be putting out positive vibes into the Universe to make sure my trip is as stress-free as possible!
Next time as soon as you get your car model the key in SketchUp. Then make it a Solid and print it. Mind you, you will be at/near the Knowledge Cafe or its equivalent with all its 3D printers.
@g.h.hubers Are you allowed to use the 3D printers for free?!
At the Knowledge Cafe there were several printers (about 5) that were used to print little interesting 3D models that were shared/uploaded way before 3D Basecamp started. I guess that if you would had a nice model, it could also be printed.
3D Basecamp 2020 may have a similar setup. Future will tell.
I can’t find the post/thread where we (forum members) were asked to submit models.
I’l be searching again later.
This one I think…
Two questions…
Do you have to be invited to Basecamp?
Has the 2020 location been set and if so where is it?
