Why is there a space between areas when i add flooring?

oh thank you so much! when you say heavy weight components you mean the 3d warehouse items ive imported right? i should look for smaller weighted ones? okay i will use perspective. My course originally told me to use parallel projection when making my floor plan so I’ve probably had it like that the entire time. Will parallel projection make it run slower?
thank you again

You’re welcome.

Yes. Look for furniture and other components that have fewer polygons. Much of the entourage components are overly detailed for the job you need them to do. All that extra detail ends up being cost with no benefit.

Parallel Projection isn’t slower but you can wind up with the camera placed at a huge distance from the model and it can be difficult to fix. Not likely to happen with the camera in Perspective. Besides, thanks to Filippo Brunelleschi taught you to see that way.

Here are a couple of examples.
First the faucet in the laundry room. That’s a pretty heavily detailed faucet, especially when you compare it to the sink which doesn’t even have a drain indicated. A simpler faucet could surely do the same job without the huge amount of geometry.

And the dishwasher. If your model is all about how to build a dishwasher those racks and other interior features might be important. For the design of the house, those details add cost to your model but don’t pay any dividends.

Really, when it comes down to it, you could probably manage with nothing more than the outside skin of the door on the front.
