They are not in the same plane. You should start from the beginning, work on a 1:1 scale and follow the tutorials of the beginner’s course, no matter how easy it seems to you to draw some lines.

The grey face/outlines aren’t filled and it is also floating above the other surface.
You could redraw one line of the area so it can re-fill the area with a texture, or move the boundries so they touch the surface below?

No, it doesn’t.
You must have done something to make it a group, SketchUp doesn’t do that by itself…
Edit: it is also possible that you made a copy of an existing group wich off course would automatically be a group…
