Why do i get this many hourglasses after/during each action?

Yesterday SU22 was as fast as the wild coyote.
Today I get an hourglass waiting time between 2 and 8 seconds after every action?!
It does not benefit my workflow and multiplies my working time a lot!

SU22 why do I get an hourglass wait after every action

Why does this happen today?

Unfortunately the client does not want me to sahre their model, so i could share my model without the reference file, but not sure if that would help?

What is your computer doing besides SketchUp? Is there a large update on the way?
Has SketchUp switched to your integrated graphics instead of your Nvidia card?
What is your model like? Can you post it for others to check?

When was the last time you rebooted your machine?

My pc does the usual as every working day.

  1. sketchup 22
  2. google maps website
  3. ruimtelijkeplannen website
  4. simscale login page (so not active yet)
  5. youtube for music
  6. outlook
  7. total cmd

PS yesterday i had 3 (heavy) sketchup models open, simcale active, and some other websites open, without problems

Already treid reopening the model, restating program and reboot pc with no effect

What do you mean by ‘reference file’?

Were you working on this exact model yesterday?

What does Model Info: Statistics Show?

When you reboot, reopen and start a brand new drawing (empty) - how does SketchUp behave?

I received a large 3d model with only one tag of which i only need the buildingvolume, so the outside perimeters. But since everything is on one tag only, i thought it would be faster to redraw the exterior using the model as a reference file which i will delete when i am done.

Yes, its the same file i continued working with totday to finish this model.

Statistics shows:

When starting a new file everything works fine
Saved a copy without ‘reference’ which also works like a charm.
But then i do not hav emy reference, which worked file yesterday?

The “original” file (with reference file) is 96MB, after deleting the reference file it is reduced to 142kB!
So it must be the reference file that slows things down … since today.

Click the Show Nested Components box in model info… I’m guessing it’s the really heavy model that is slowing you down.

You can try some clean up extensions

Today, i think so to.

Including nested:

Kinda weird yesterday everything worked fine even with more programs and browsers open.

Almost 2mil edges and 1.2mil faces… of course it may struggle.

Have you purged that file before you brought it into your model?

You could also run CleanUp on it and see if it helps.

Yup, noticed that two.
Did purge and clean it up as much as possible witht hem extentions, but loads of red messages to do things manualy.
That’s why i am busy/need /want to simpyfy the model to only the buildingvolume.

Received the reference file as an IFC model (635MB), tried to purge and clean it up before usage, but its an “all on one tag” model

Hope i can finish this first building today, so i can start on the second tomorow :innocent:
