When trying to intersect faces, SketchUp would freeze, and now it won't stay open

I’ve had issues with SketchUp not opening for a while. I have to run as administrator and create a new file for it to open, and once it’s open, then I go open the file I’m working in.

Just in the last couple of days, I’m having a new problem. When I try to intersect faces, SketchUp freezes, and I have to use Task Manager to close it. Then, when I try to reopen SketchUp, it crashes again. I haven’t had problems with this in the past when I’ve tried to intersect faces, even on much bigger files. The file I’m working on is 340kb and, at this point, is pretty simple.

I’m on Windows, with a Nvidia GeForce GTX driver that is up to date. Here is the file. Any thoughts?

  1. Locate the installer, right-click it, and choose Run as administrator, then choose Repair.

  2. Download the latest release of SketchUp 2020, and test it out in trial mode.
