When I open an additional Layout file, Layout asks to update the already open Layout file. A CRASH usually follows.

what is your mac os version ? your profile says 13.8 but there is not 13.8 - ventura stops at 13.6.5
do you mean 10.13.8 ? high sierra ? that would explain the instability
