What does Ctrl + Eraser do?

What happens when you hold down Ctrl while using the eraser?

Does it make hidden geometry?

This operation hides the object on which your focus is directed. It is useful if you want to remove an element in a scene, without having to literally erase it.

Why don’t you simply try it out and see for yourself?

That’s what I did, I was erasing lines along a curved surface but I wasn’t sure if it just hid them or made them into hidden geometry.

It doesn’t hide objects (you cant unhide it after you use Ctrl + Eraser), it makes hidden geometry.

Ctrl with Eraser doesn’t hide edges it Softens them to make smooth curved faces.
Shift with Eraser will hide edges.
