When we can get out to the ocean, I like to walk–barefoot if I can–and watch my little dog run like the wind.
I read that this welcome page is not good for floating questions. New myself.
Hi, CapFranc here- my name is Frank and I captain a 36-foot sailboat for a living (post-retirement). I’ve been using SketchUp for 5-6 years as an occasional user. Pro version. I was a design Draftsman/ Technologist for light industry back in the 80’s, In the late 80’s I got into computers and control systems starting a company building control panels and installing/servicing PC’s and networks. I finished my career with 23 years at a college IT department managing systems and developing software. I retired in 2019 and use Sketchup to help me remodel my home and just for fun. I would like to spend some time getting good at building/copying architectural buildings with SketchUp. I’m still a beginner.
Best, CapFranc

I am HJN. I have been using SketchUp for years. I even designed my new house on the free version, many years ago. Does anyone know if there is a version of sketchUp that will run on a Vibe Whiteboard? I believe that it is running an Android operating system. I would like to be able to have SketchUp on my IPAD Pro as well as on the Vibe. Perhaps someone has a workaround that will let me use SketchUp on the Vibe. Perhaps an online version of SketchUp that I could access and create designs from the IPAD and the Vibe board. Advice would be appreciated. Thanks, HJN
I am larry scavone. I am an architect and use Sketchup for personal use. Sketchup is a wonderful program that allows one to design in 3D and see every imaginable detail there is to see in a project. I am probably an intermediate level user. I have not done a 3D base camp but learned using the on line tutorials in 2012/2013. I use Sketchup Pro 2022 and will soon move to Sketchup 2023. I have no models on the warehouse. I build furniture and do quite a bit of construction and love working out the details in Sketchup first before going into the woodshop. Sketchup is an amazing tool when it comes to building.
Hi - My name is Rich - typing out of Chicago. I’m using the IPad version…I’m an illustrator painter but I also am a custom cabinet and furniture maker. I’m using SketchUp to give clients 3D more full formed designs so they can get a better understanding of what I’m proposing.
I learned 3D design Using Maya when I had access to the software for a student fee…I got rather efficient at it and used it often until the cost became prohibitive to continue using the program. I turned to sketch up as a more affordable alternative and while I’m picking it up and feeling good about the direction of my progress…I do have some questions that I’m hoping I can get some help with. Is there a way to Fill an empty space - like if there is a frame for a shape - how do I fill in between tangents and get a solid surface. Also - is there a way to grab a point instead of the full line to move it? Thanks in advance
Welcome. You should start a new thread with your question. Share the .skp file or at least some images so wecan see what you are trying to accomplish.
As per forum rule newcomers aren’t allowed to post more than one image as long as he or she remains on level 0.
This is stated in: https://forums.sketchup.com/t/greetings/253249
And linked on that page: Understanding Discourse Trust Levels
I understand. And apologise if this might be misunderstood in my flaged post, right here, earlier tonight. But are there any clear rules that can be given for posting more files, if I may ask?

Hi everyone, I’m Jake!
I currently work as Technical Support at a ramping company.

I’d say I’m a beginner.
I have not gone to Sketchup Basecamp.
My current setup is a 16GB Ram, GTX 1050 Graphics Card with an i5-10400F. I run Windows at 64-bit and am currently using Version 23 of SketchUp.

Hi Roger, welcome to the forum!
If you need help with something specific, it’s best to create a new topic yourself as this one is just for introducing yourself…
Hello to everyone,
I just want to introduce my self, I’m a beginner using the free web version. I’m currently drawing the interiors of an house and I think sketchup is a very nice application to do that in a simple way.
Since I was in the past a cad designer I learned quite fast (one month about) all the tools available in the free version of the application.
I wish you a nice day and enjoy your projects with sketchup =)
Happy New Year all.

Hi I’m Greg,
My background is in Interior Architecture but gave that and AutoCAD up years ago. I primarily use Sketchup Pro to design furniture but I occasionally do small design projects for friends. Since I don’t use Sketchup on a regular basis I can sometimes get left behind with changes made to the new versions. I’m hoping that this forum can help with some of those issues when I can’t find a quick answer on google or youtube. I consider myself a low level intermediate.
I’m sure we can help you out if you ask questions. Or search because your question may have already been answered.
Please complete your forum profile with SketchUp version. Update the OS version and graphics card if that’s different than it was seven years ago when you joined. IF that information is correct it makes helping you easier.
