Web account lost

Tried to login into the free web Sketchup via Trimble yesterday (after some months of absence) and was told my registered email was not recognized any longer. Ended up recreating in the account in the vain hope that I might be able to recover my old models, but no luck. Does anyone know what happened on that server and whether there is a chance of getting back my old models? Thanks.

You probably tried to log in with a different email address than the one you think you used the first time… So you created a new account that has no connection to the original one.
Try to remember what else your original email address might have been.

Firefox remembers for me  But are you saying that there has been no change at SketchUp to logins?

I’m not saying there hasn’t been a change, they’re always “optimizing”, but 99.99999% of the time, entering the wrong email is the cause.
Perhaps (I’m pinging for you) @colin to check…

Maybe you have different login credentials for this forum and to the web app and Firefox mixes it up??

I just joined this forum and the forum’s credentials don’t appear to synch with SketchUp/Trimble. I wanted to reuse the same credentials but failed. I ended up logging in with my Google account.

No. They don’t. The credentials you use for the forum are independent of SketchUp. They are what you set up when you joined the forum.

That appears to be the case. So, no, to my mind I have used the right credentials when attempting to log into Trimble. Though the login process/appearance definitely changed since I last logged in.

Firefox has associated the URL https://identity.trimble.com with my credentials. This URL is no longer supported.

@colin may be able to help you recover your files by finding the relevant login for your account. He may or may not be around until after the weekend.

A few months ago all accounts were moved to a new system. Your current subscriptions should show on this page:

Thanks v much, Colin. I am incredibly confused now. The link takes me into Trimble with my gmail credentials. (The same I used to sign up here.) It invites me to transfer my models from - well, the same account. The one I thought I did not even have. When my Firefox credentials failed, I attempted to login with my Google credentials (by clicking on the button “Login with Google” - I did not enter the credentials myself) and that failed too. At which point I started this thread. Now my models are back - which is great. But I am befuddled what the platform now wants from me. Am I supposed to ignore the whole episode and simply login with my Google credentials? Am I meant to click the Transfer button to transfer from what looks like myGoogle to myGoogle? Anything else?

All that matters is the email address you’re using. If you did manage to sign in with your gmail address, using the Trimble sign in, you would end up at the same place as you do when signing in with Google.

If you want to try and get the Trimble sign in to work again you could try a private window. Then it won’t try to auto fill things for you.

I dunno. It works with my Google credentials now so it looks like the Firefox credentials were wrong. I deleted them to avoid future confusion. Thanks for your help.
