I’ve made a proper mess out this project. Things were looking good yesterday, but then I managed to delete the most crucial parts in SketchUp while working on getting an elevation set up. Didn’t realize it until I’d hit save. I’ve pretty much got everything set up again, by cutting and pasting from an older saved version of the file (thanks TrimbleConnect) but it’s still funky in a few ways that I’m trying to chase down.
Yesterday it was working, but now when I stack the viewports, the ones on top are obscuring the ones below, and I can’t figure out where I’m going wrong. I’ve made sure that Sky & Ground are turned off, and Background isn’t toggled on in Layout. What is the step that I am missing?
You have Fill turned on for the top viewport. Unlock its layer, select the viewpoert and in Shape Style turn off Fill.
BTW, there’s a lot of incorrect tag usage in your SketchUp model. That can cause you a lot of problems. You should keep all edges and faces untagged and only give tags to groups and components.
You should also delete the LO file from your DropBox link since it contains client contact information as well as your own.
Thanks for the help, Dave! And for reminding me not to overshare in Dropbox.
As for the incorrect tag usage, I will try to do better…this is not the first time you’ve told me to shape up on that front. This particular SketchUp file originated from a LIDAR scan and came with that company’s tagging system. I’ve got a couple more scans (remodel as-builts) that I’m about to start working on, so it’s time to develop a system for dealing with what they give me.
