I’m experiencing a very frustrating issue in LayOut since I updated to SketchUp 2026.
My usual workflow is to duplicate a page and then change the scene for the viewport. However, every time I do this now, the yellow warning triangle appears, and the loading bar near the Viewport settings keeps loading endlessly. It takes almost 5 minutes just to update a single scene.
I’ve always used this same method of duplicating pages without any issues in previous versions. My computer has an excellent configuration, so it shouldn’t be a hardware limitation.
Has anyone else experienced this specific delay in the 2026 version? Are there any new settings or workarounds I should look into?
Thanks in advance!

1.13 GB is an enormous Layout file. What could be filling it up? The most likely thing is lots of download entourage (decoration) models from the warehouse, plants, fixtures like sinks, tubs, toilets, doorknobs. In any case one file that big may have worked in the past, and this one may be too big in a different way, it’s not a simple size equation. If it’s large format texture images bloating the file it will be have differently than if there are millions of edges, both can contribute to “large” files.
I’m not sure what exactly is dragging your file down, I’ll take a look later if I have time. But in general I have not experienced slow downs with 26 compared to previous versions, it feels a bit faster to me. Have you tried using the “old” graphics engine just to rule that out? But I suspect the true cause is somewhere in your very big sketchup file.
Yeah, I took a quick look… 26.5 million edges, yikes. The first scene “Geral” shows it all, miles of plants, furniture, general decor. If all this is really needed I would recommend the user adopt a dual file workflow, use one file with all the entourage for interior design and have a second file with all of that stuff deleted just for the architecture and use with layout.
It’s definitely not the file size. I just redownloaded the 2025 version and everything is working perfectly. I’m going to stick with this one. There is something wrong with the 2026 version. Even with small files, without any heavy items, I’m having issues with 2026. Thank you to everyone who tried to help.
