Update issues 2024

Good day, I hope someone can assist me?
After installing the update to 2024, I experienced some strange issues.

  1. Toolbars does not save, every time I open Sketchup I have to select my toolbars again.
  2. The Opacity sliding bar does not work, its either 100% opaque or totally clear, you only see the objects outlining.
  3. Printing out of Sketchup itself completely changed! Page layout makes no difference, printing itself is just a total problem itself…
  4. The change of icons… sooooo many time is wasted searching for icons I used to know. Is there a way to change it back to default?

Updates is usually exciting, but this update is frustrating!

  1. Download a fresh copy of installer file form here: Download All | SketchUp | SketchUp, and right click on that installer file, select Run as administrator. When prompted select Repair.
  2. No idea. (Perhaps same as 1)
  3. The printing is changed at 2023.1 (See release notes Print Updates section) nothing you can do against, but use Layout…
  4. No. You have to live with the icons that “look like washed jeans”, trendy but ugly

in the preferences, look for graphics and there, switch to the old engine (openGL). and tell us if it’s better.

since your profile doesn’t tell us what graphics card you have, I’ll have to guess that it’s not supporting directX 12 very well.

Just upgraded to the 24.0.594 version. I went into Help - Check for updates and ran the update through SU (as I usually do) and so far I am not seeing these issues. All toolbars are right where I left them and texture opacity slider is working. I am using the new graphic engine and running SU on a RTX 3080 card. Must be something with your system or setup. I hope you get it sorted.
