I have an issue on SketchUp Pro 2024. When I try to lower opacity, the material become completely invisible even though it is only 99 opacity.
Does anyone have this issue?
Does anyone have this issue?
No, seems to work fine here.
What graphics options & hardware have you got there ?
Thanks for the reply.
I am using ASUS Vivobook S14 Flip
AMD Ryzen 5 5600H with Radeon Graphics 3.30 GHz.
I will try reinstall the program, hopefully the issue will be fix.
Ah, what I meant was, are you using the new graphics engine ? If so, maybe try turning it off to see whether it makes any difference… (I have it set to on, & it works, but I’m using a different graphics card & processor)
I will try thank. Thanks for the advice
same problem here. did u already solved this? i am looking for help too
The support gave me this advice. I have not try it yet. Hope this helps.
Thanks for reaching out to SketchUp Support!
It may be an issue where your system cannot run the new Grpahics Engine in 2024.
First, make sure to install the latest drivers for your card to see if that helps (from the manufacturer, not through windows).
If that does not, can you open SketchUp to a blank template file and go to Window > Preferences > Graphics, and make sure that GPU Selection is set to the best installed GPU and see if that helps. (a restart of SketchUp is required for the change to take effect)
If that does not help, then on the same graphics setting screen, please try setting the Graphics Engine to “Use Classic Engine”, and see if that helps. (a restart of SketchUp is required for the change to take effect)
If neither of those help, please try disconnecting all but a single display (the laptop screen only if on a laptop), and try starting SketchUp on only that display and see if that works.
Please let me know how this goes and if any of the suggestions above work so I can get this reported.
If you need further assistance with this issue, all you need to do is reply to this email and I will be happy to help. If you need to reference this case again in the future, the case number for this support case is 10668541.

Maybe you can try this:
1 - Go to Styles
2 - Click Edit
3 - Click on the second icon from the left to adjust the faces’s style.
4 - If the box labeled Material transparency is not checked, put an X in the box.
5 - Pull down the list and choose Nicer.
See this screen capture.
i have tried to change the graphics engine to “use classic graphic engine” and it worked! thanks for all the advice
Glad to help!
