When you use the Unhide command, it should keep popping components that were hidden off the stack. At least keep that history for a session.
Wouldn’t this be the Tag system? All the tags in a stack that can have the visibility toggled on and off?
I don’t think so, though could you elaborate how I would accomplish this with tags?
I’m just thinking a very simple stack, like another Undo/Redo stack except it’s just Hide/Unhide. I have bound Hide/Unhide manually since there is no default hotkey (an oversight I believe). I can Hide + Hide + Hide, then can only Unhide a the last one.
The only option I have right now is to bind yet another key to Unhide All which is often times not what I want since I am only pushing out a few objects to get to deeper ones.
maybe a toggle short cut to hide rest when editing a deep component or group
plus use outliner to pin point and deep select (double click icon)
This is useful, yes, and I use this often. Still though, I see no reason why Hide and Unhide should not be a stack easily pushed and popped until the session is ended (or whenever you stop recording Redo/Undo stack actions). This would help when objects are not in your group and you need finer detail of what is hidden.
