I cannot seem to open this file that I have been working on on my desktop or the one I saved over to my companies network and I am not sure what to do. It never gave me a reason saying it was corrupted or offered to fix anything? I there anything we can do about this. It will not let me upload the file on to hear so if someone could reach out that would be greatly appreciated. I really just need to know if this is salvageable by any means or do I need to rebuild my model?
hello, you can’t upload it here because you just joined. but you can upload it on a website like wetransfer.com and post the link.
Have you checked if there were autosaved file of your model ?
they can be found on startup or there : %LocalAppData%\SketchUp\SketchUp 2019\SketchUp\working\SKETCHUP\RecoveredFiles (paste it in explorer)
Unfortunately that did not work and the .tmp file there is also corrupted and giving the same response to the error. Thank you for the recommendation on the file transfering.
I can read data but not sure what to edit it with. Let me ping @Barry who would be the one you need
(by the way, .tmp wouldn’t be the type of file to look for, rather autosaved_xxx.skp or recovered_xxx.skp)
Most times that I recover anything from a file, I only get the components and materials. In your file’s case that was as much as 191 MB of the total 221 MB. That hopefully means that large chunks of your scene were inside components, and by dragging components out into the scene you might be able to get the model going again.
