I have been working on the project steadily for about a month. The last night, after the automatic save, I manually saved it again. When I tried to open the project in the morning, I encountered the issue I mentioned. I checked all storage locations that could contain recovery files related to Sketchup, including the “Temp” folder, but I couldn’t find the file I needed. The polygon count wasn’t very high because I manually drew most of the furniture.
No they didn’t. I just changed the Face Style to Monochrome to show the incorrectly oriented faces so you can fix them. You can change the Face Style back to Shaded or Shaded with Textures to see the materials.
There’s nothing to fix regarding the materials. Just turn on Shaded with Texture. Or just select the original style in the Styles panel. I didn’t update the style to Monochrome.
@colin
Hi, I was working on my 3D model, and saving normally. After a day of work, I closed the file and now, I can’t open anymore.
When I try to open, the message “unexpected file format” appears. The .skb file is also with this problems.
Could you please try to recover my file? I have so much work in this file, I can’t lose everything.
This reduced the file size by 76% making your file much more manageable. There’s still quite a lof of excess detail that could be reduced to make the file more manageable.
Try opening it with 2023.1. If you have problems with that I’ll upload the purged version of your file.
Hy @DaveR !
Thank you so much for the support!!! You saved many hours of work!
The software is from the company I work, so I have to contact the tecnology team on monday to update the software.
Could you upload the purged version, so I will try opening here?
Here you go. Before you proceed with this file I would suggest that you go through your model and clean things up. I expect you could edit the bed component and reduce the polygons or maybe easier, find a more suitable bed for the job. Unless this entire model is about the wine bottles on the wall, I would suggest replacing the label textures with simple colors.
Why have you divided the walls into small chunks as components? Is there a benefit to that? Many of the components don’t line up properly.
