I just renewed an older version of sketchupPro and when I try and open a file that I created a year ago, I’m getting a message that the file was created with a newer(?) version of sketchup than the one I have now and that I should go to the website and get version 23.0.419. I can’t find out where to do that and would like to start of this project today. I have the desktop version which appears to be from 2019 but I don’t see anyway to update that either. Any suggestions?
It sounds like at some point you at least used a trial of SketchUp 2023 when you created that model.
If you just renewed your subscription you would be able to install SketchUp 2023 or 2024. That would be the best option. You can get it here: Download All | SketchUp | SketchUp
Each major release of SketchUp installs as a separate program. It may be that you still have 2023 installed. Even if you do and you decide to stick with 2023, download the latest installer from the link and run it.
When you run the installer for 2023 or 2024, make sure you right click on it and choose Run as administrator to get it installed correctly.
