I am encountering a small problem when I try to share my model with another user on Trimble. They seem to be able to view the graph and the model on the Trimble Creator but they are not able to view the component when they export it to SketchUp.
Does Trimble Creator have any sharing settings that I may not know about whereby I can share my model with chosen users I wish to collaborate with?
Additionally, please note that my model is private and not public and I wish for it to remain as so.
Might I need Trimble Connect for this? Please help.
What error were they encountering when trying to view the model in SketchUp?
There are not currently any sharing settings that can prevent a licensed user from using a Live Component if they have access to it - e.g. if have been given them a link to the Trimble Creator graph then they should have no issues downloading the Live Component and using it within SketchUp.
Thank you for you response and sorry for the late reply.
The other SketchUp user could view the graph on Trimble Creator but had issues while exporting it to SketchUp. We did not figure it out, so I thought the problem was on my end, and that I needed to maybe turn on sharing settings for them to access it. I believe they are a licensed user.
But thank you for clarifying this.
Currently the task is suspended due to coordination issues but I hope when we get back to it, things will run just fine.
I hope I can get back to you if any issues were to arise.
I’m sorry to hear about this issue. We’d be very interested to know more about it if it happens again!
Trimble Creator and export to SketchUp from Trimble Creator are features currently available to all users (including free users). All users can also import LCs into SketchUp, but a license/subscription to SketchUp is required to adjust an LC’s configuration once in SketchUp.
Let me know how you/they get on if attempting to do this again in the future!
