Trimble Connect Sketchup File Embedding

Hi everyone,

I’m embedding the Trimble Viewer in our app to render .skp files with <iframe>. The issue is that the viewer requires a login, and we already have our own authentication. We want to avoid making users log in twice.

Is there a way to embed the Trimble Connect Viewer for .skp files without an extra login? Ideally, it would work like the SketchUp 3D Warehouse iframe embed, but 3D Warehouse loads large files slowly, whereas Trimble Connect is faster for us.

Also, sharing via “anyone with the link” isn’t feasible since we need to manage user access individually, and we expect multiple users in this e-commerce app.

Thank you!

One can share a link to a file/model anonymously by selecting it, and click on the share button in the detail panel.
You have to enter an email, but that can be any email. The link created should give access to the model without triggering a sign up.

Btw, SketchUp also offers this possibility, but it must be hosted on Trimble Connect:

https://help.sketchup.com/en/sketchup-ipad/link-sharing#:~:text=Link%20Sharing%20generates%20a%20view,any%20time%2C%20restricting%20access%20immediately.

We’ve tried using SketchUp, but it has the same issue as 3D Warehouse: our models are too large, so loading takes several minutes. In contrast, Trimble Connect can load them in just seconds.

The share a link problem is that I can’t keep updating the access list with every possible client email. That’s why I need a broader solution that doesn’t require adding individual emails for access.

You won’t have to, it only needs one email (which can be your own, for instance)

Oh I see. Thank you very much for your help Mike, it actually worked!

Do you know if there is someway to remove the tools bar? Apparently it can be removed fot trimble connect for windows, but can it be for the browser as well? As it will be embeded, it would improve the user experience.
