I’m using a mac running Sequoia 15.1. Using Pro. Very often the functionality of my tool stops working. Say, for example, I am using the dimension tool. When it works correctly, hovering over an intersection will show a selection point on the model, I can click and select another selection point and get a dimension. Then, all of a sudden the selection points do not show up when I hover over the intersection. To get the tool to work correctly I have to close and reopen the model, and often it just crashes the application. This happens with many of the tools. They just stop working like they are supposed to and either the program crashes or I have to restart to get them to work.

You may be hitting the combination that leads to the issue. Next time it happens try left-clicking to go to Finder, then left-click back into SketchUp, see if that fixes things.
left clicking on mac doesn’t get me to finder. Going to finder and returning to sketch up doesn’t do anything. I have quit sketch up and restart.

Left-clicking on the Finder icon in the Dock should be a valid test, but could you arrange your SketchUp window so that you can see a Finder window, then click on the Finder window, and click on the SketchUp document.
Can you do a screen recording showing the problem happening, and it still happening when you’re back in SketchUp? On Mac you can start with Command-shift-5, and then choose from the options at the bottom of the screen, to say whether you’re recording the while screen or an area. You can type command-shift-5 to stop the recording.

In this recording I’m showing you what is going on when I am having a problem with the tools not behaving I try to use the rotate tool but it won’t attach. Then I tried the dimension tool and it would not attach. I cliked into the finder and clicked back into sketchup and it now works. Sometimes when this happens I have to click in the finder and back to sketchup several times before it starts behaving correctly.

Something to look at, when the problem happens, how many things in the Tools menu are grayed out?
We do have a fix in our current internal builds, that takes care of the combinations we have seen. I’m hoping it will help for the cases like yours.
