This does not appear to be a Sketchup model! Error

I see that same error when trying to upload to the web app. I will try to find out why it doesn’t work.

Thank you, Collin. This worked for me, too. And I use to think of myself as a “super searcher”!

When trying to directly upload a model the web version refuses, saying there is a 100 MB limit. It may be that the error about not being a SketchUp model may be the wrong error, triggered by the file being too big.

I’m looking to see what in the file can be reduced in size.

Hello, I’ve been looking for a solution or any possible help. I have two models that got corrupted after a power outage. Neither the skp nor the skb files work in any way. Can anyone please help me recover them? The error message that appears is just the same as in the thread title.

I’m posting the G Drive link below.

Thanks in advance.

@colin Error : This Does not appear to be +SketchUp model . please help me sir.

please…its an emergency work for the client.

What version of SketchUp are you actually using. Your profile says you are using the Free Plan. Is that true?

You file is nearly all zeroes. There is nothing in that file to recover. Where were you saving it as you were working on it? Do you have a .skb file to share? Maybe there is something in it.

i randomly filled those out of tention.
using sketchup pro 2023.
i dont know exactly but that was installed by my coaching institution.
please help me from this.

None of those files appear to be viable. Have you been working on them while they are saved directly to the cloud?

yeah i have…i will share the link.

it got corrupted after power outage

Putting incorrect information your profile doesn’t help us help you.

So put that in your forum profile. You aren’t using the Free Plan.

What do you mean by “coaching institution”?

As I wrote in my previous reply to you, there’s nothing to recover in that file. Look for the .skb and share that.

skb file

That one is also badly corrupted.

Please correct your forum profile so it makes sense.

Nop. These models never were located in any cloud. I uploaded them to G Drive to be able to share a link here. The models were always on a local hard drive. They got corrupted during a power outage. But what were the odds of having a power outage at the exact same moment that my PC was (I guess) doing an autosave? I wasn’t even working at all at that moment.

Anyways, since you are telling me that they are not viable, there isn’t much more I should expect. I appreciate the time taken on my models. Re-doing them is apparently the only next step.

Thank you again. Good luck everyone!

SORRY, CAN’T ACCESS THE FILE WITHOUT AN ACCOUNT, YOU NEED TO GRANT ACCESS TO PEOPLE WITH THE LINK I GUESS.

Also, writing in all caps is considered shouting on the internets. No need to shout, it’s sunday, help will come in due time.

I couldn’t open the files, it looks like they´re corrupted, where was the file being saved? have you downloaded models from the 3D warehouse?

The SKB is 100% filled with zeros, the SKP is 50% filled with zeros. No chance of recovering anything.

It was an interior design model, some items were downloaded from warehouse too.

No chance of recovery anyhow ?

File was saved in local storage

let me know if there is slightest of chance. it will save me a lot of time ?
