This device is not authorized warning

I have started to get a device not authorized warning repeatedly. I only have to leave my computer unattended for an hour or two for it to reappear. Of course, I can keep signing back into Trimble but that gets boring after a while. The novelty soon wears off.

Anyone else similarly plagued?

I only see this with Mac users who haven’t closed SketchUp or rebooted their machine in a long time. Most people, out of habit, just close the lid and leave the app running in the dock.

The fix is usually straightforward: sign out of SketchUp, quit all open instances—use Force Quit if you have to. Then reboot the machine, or do a forced reboot by holding the power button until it shuts off.

This will do a few things both for the Mac itself and SketchUp which will stop this popping up.

I occasionally have to do the same with other devices that rarely get restarted (iPhone/iPad, hubs, routers). It can work wonders for unexplained weirdness.

Hmmm.

Just tried that and this is what I get:

So it appears to think I am not logged in. However:

I think I am.

So goodness knows what I do now. Is it my Mac? Is it the software? Is it Trimble?

@Elmtec-Adam Thanks for your phone assistance yesterday. Seems like deleting certain cache files sorted the problem in the end. I report it here in case it helps anyone else facing a similar issue.

I have something similar. I closed out all of my SketchUp products, restarted my Mac, and I can only sign into my pro account, but I don’t have access to my products or billing history. When I try to get support, all I get is this MyTrimbleMyTrimble

Problem Logging In

We can’t log you in because of an authentication error.

Any thoughts? I was hoping to wrap up a project today that I have a deadline for. I’ve been a user of SketchUp for 21 years, and every time I think this will be the year without too much dumb s#$% happening, something like this occurs…. One of these years…

On the account management page you may see two accounts. Both start with your name, one ends with a V, the other with V Design LLC. It’s the second account that has your Pro subscription on it.

For the problem with contacting support, if you try that by replying to a previous case email, it will fail. If you still have problems after looking for the LLC account, try contacting Support via this page:
