So I just started using the online/free/web version of Sketchup. But I seem to have messed up some setting, because suddenly, the thick outline edges went missing. All I’m left with are lines that are exactly 1 pixel wide regardless of zoom level.
Left-hand side is what the ukulele dude and axis should look like, notice the thicker outlines and the anti-aliased edges. Right-hand side is what I have now.
It only affects one browser on one of my computers, on which it previously worked fine. Other browsers work fine, and my other computers work fine. I’ve deleted the Sketchup and Trimble cookies, didn’t help. I must have hit some hotkey accidentally. What can I do?
It looks to me as if you are using a style with Profiles turned off or set to 1. Save a copy of the model to your computer and then share it with us so we can check it out.
The issue remains even on freshly created models (such as the one attached below), and when viewing the model on the same brand and version of browser on another computer it draws the model correctly.
Yeah. It’s not a SketchUp issue. something with the hardware or drivers. On the other hand it won’t prevent you from creating models in SketchUp on that manchine.
By the way, what operating system and graphics card. Putting bogus numbers in your forum profile is no help.
The computer that suddenly got this issue today is a Windows 11 laptop with an RTX 4070, problem is only present on Firefox 129.0.1. Chrome works fine. Edge works fine.
The other computer that works fine is a Windows 10 built from parts machine with an RTX 2070. Same version of Firefox on that one. Works fine. I alternate between the two.
Have ‘View profiles’ enabled!
Now what happens when you have your cursor over to the right side, over one of the windows (Entity Info / Styles / Layers or whichever) and now while holding down [Ctrl] also scroll to enlarge or reduce the windows. At around 90% is the turning point for actually making profiles visible.
Toggling this switch (can be found by using the magnifying glass on the left and typing “profiles” in the search box) makes a noticable difference on the currently working browsers, in the sense that it shows/hides the outlines. But it makes no difference on the offending Firefox installation.
I see what you mean, and it sorta makes things a little bit better. Ctrl-zooming in and out while the cursor is hovering over one of the toolbars makes all lines (not just outlines) 2 pixels wide instead of 1 pixel. Here’s a before and after:
Edit: Image doesn’t really translate properly to what I see though, guess you’ll have to take my word for it that all edges are slightly more thick. But to be clear, the outlines are still not rendering.
