I upload my model to 3D warehouse, give it 20 minutes for it to “sprinkle some magic” then try to embed in a website using the embed code provided. But the model doesn’t work. I get a grey box with “the requested model no longer exists”.
I know the model is there, but when I copy and paste the iframe embed code from my 3d warehouse into a test web page, the web page says ‘the requested model no longer exists’
Strangely yes, I noticed this when I went to paste the embed code in a forum post a moment ago. But if i try to use the code anywhere else it doesn’t work.
Does it work for you?
It does work for me. I guess the embed code is ok and of course the model exists.I wonder if there’s something with website where you’re trying to post it. Have you tried embedded code for another object from the 3D Warehouse? Perhaps a very simple object so you don’t have to wait for it to load on the page? Maybe the model is large enough that the access time from the other website is too long. Just a guess.
Another though. You might try cleaning up the model a bit. Do you need the imported CAD lines for the way the model will be used in its embedded form? If not, I would delete that content and purge the model. That and reducing the size of the excessively large textures would reduce the file size by about 20 percent. Probably more could be done to simplify it, too.
FWIW, I would also suggest moving the model to the origin. Currently it’s about 80m from the origin. Having it placed so far away can create graphics issues.
I had a friend of a friend produce the model, my modelling skills are amateurish in comparison! However I have created a copy, purged and re-uploaded to test but same issue. I’ll see if my friend can optimize further and try again in the week.
